Summer Lovin!

I haven't posted anything since I have been on Summer Break, so here I go. Summer break is such an odd thing...I think it's taken me a week to not feel bad about not having to go to work and fill the time lol. Oh, I have found other things to fill my time...pinterest,wedding planning, sun tanning, sleeping in,research/reading classroom ideas, playing with my puppy and exploring Redding some more lol, but having a few months off is an odd feeling.

This weekend I met Greg at the cabin, his brother and him were working on the sprinkler system so I headed up because it's about 20 degrees cooler up there then at home. We had time to check out the lake and make sure the boat was working in tip top shape for when my sister comes this week...Oh Yes!! This week! Wooo hooo! ;)

Ok, warning I played momaratzi and took a lot of pictures of Bailey lol

Her first time on a boat ...First day she was a little crazy second day no problem. Hopefully she will be a pro before we are on a house boat for a week lol...

We have been trying the see this Hearst property forever. The water has to be just right, deep and clear enough and I finally got to take a picture - It's like a fairy tale property.

 ummm...how am I supposed to get a tan ?

Mt. Shasta in the back ground.

Cooling Off !

This weekend was really nice and started off with a fun suprise. We had planned on meeting Greg's uncles in Chico (about an hour away from us) for an antique faire and picnic, but were pleasently suprised when Gregs parents came too! They were sneaky and kept a great secret. Chico is a really neat town and Bidwell Park is a great spot for a picnic!

Sunday we bought a kiddy pool for Bailey to keep cool and headed to the lake in the afternoon.

 Such a cute lil swimmer!

Splish Splash!

Ahhh...Spring Break!

I wish I could bottle this relaxed and carefree feeling forever, but unfortunately spring break ends on Tuesday. This week has been amazing-my week home went better than words can describe, so I am not going to try! I will say that I haven't laughed that much in awhile and again I know that I have the best family in the world!

Saturday we had an antique fair at the convention center called Roses and Rust. I only have a few pictures because my hands got full...
There are a couple more coming up in May I can't wait!

I liked this idea of chalk board painting an old tray!

I loved this little vignette , I saw so many cute white pitchers (cute for our centerpieces) but they were too expensive so I'll stay on the look out.

Here are some finds... lol I feel like I always buy these old soda crates but this one was only $12 bucks so I nabbed it along with some milk bottles a domed plate and an old pot.

Never going back

...to any other cookie recipe. Cookies have been my least favorite thing to bake from scratch it always seemed that if I didn't use a cookie mix from a bag that they would come out flat and ugly. so when I saw this post from pennies on a platter for perfectly puffy cookies I had to try them. The one she had was for a butterscotch cookie, I am not the biggest fan of butterscotch so I was planning on using chocolate chips...well after reading farther into her post she also had an earlier post for a chocolate chip version. I thought what made them really stand out was that you put pudding mix into the dough...what a neat way to make variations;chocolate, cream cheese, banana cream, lemon pudding mix?

They were amazing and perfectly plump!!
Love it!

Rasberry Lemonade Bars

When Greg and I went grocery shopping this weekend I saw something that peaked my interest and gave me a reason to bake a lil something...ok like I really need a reason besides my sweet tooth and it brings me peace in the world (plus it's the way to my Fiance's heart) lol.
This is a new cake mix that I have never seen before, pink lemonade. On the back of the box there is a recipe for these bars. They turned out yummy- sweet yet tart!

Our Little River Otter

Today it was hot and we decided to take Bailey for her first swim at the River. We didn't know how she would do, but she absolutely loved it! She was not timid at all and she jumped right in. Greg even threw his dummy out and she went out and got it and brought it back in at least 5 times...poor thing is tuckered out she is napping as I type this! lol We are so proud of our little one!

Goodies and good times..

Last weekend Greg's parent stopped by and we had a really great weekend-it ended to quickly and with a trip to urgent care because my lingering cold started kicking my butt...so much so that I called in a sub two days, so not like me-but I could not get out of bed. After some antibiotics I am better now and hoping I have reached my sick quota for the year.

I wish I would of taken more pictures, but Claudia and I got a little distracted...lol all I am saying is beware of the mixed drink of Malibu that is in a bag down the liquor isle. I guess it's a really good sign I get along with my future mother in law so well, and I know our boys were eentertained.

On Saturday while the guys were getting Bailey's shots us girls do what we do best and shopped. Unfortunately all the thrift stores in Redding don't open until 10 so we only went to two places before we were summonsed home so we could go up to the cabin for the night.

Here are some goodies I got at the antique mall.

I am proud of my finds and good deals on these... an old rolling pin (eventually in my dream kitchen I want to do a wall display with old/various rolling pins), salt and pepper shakers and some cute scoops (thinking these will be incorporated in the dessert table at the wedding).

This one I was going back ant forth on, but I fell in love with the shape and size and ultimately had to have it for my cake plate collection!
lol

I posted these in the wrong order, but I decorated for spring this weekend...

At Target I saw a mason jar with some Easter eggs and a burlap top for $10...I totally already had all of that stuff so I made my own!
This Welcome Spring sign Heather and I got last year for a $1-love the Goodwill!

Back to last weekend lol ... Look at how cute this bag is that Claudia made me!

So impressive!! Tana made this for me-she bent the wire and everything. I absolutely love it and a pretty white dress will look perfect hanging on it!

We brought home Claudia's moms old sewing machine from the cabin. I got a neat little sewing basket and lesson from Claudia, so I am determined to whip some stuff up on this thing- hopefully without hurting myself or it!
