Honey Bun Cake

I love honey buns-I really only remember eating them as a kid, but they sure are tasty little things. So when I saw this cake in my Cake Dr. book I had to make it...now all I need is a reason. Greg's dad and brother coming for dinner before they go to a clay shooting luncheon Saturday-perfect!

Mix together 1 pkg. yellow cake mix, 1 cup sour cream, 3/4 cup vegetable oil and 4 large eggs.

Pour batter in a lightly sprayed 13 by 9 pan. Now for the filling... drizzle 1/3 cup of honey on top of the batter. Then sprinkle 1/3 cup packed brown sugar, 2 tbs ground cinnamon, and optional 1/2 cup chopped pecans (I probably would leave them out next time).

With a knife lightly swirl through the ingredients to blend slightly.

bake at 350 degrees for 38-40 minutes

While hot pour the glaze over the top of the cake, spreading around with the back of a spoon. How do you make the glaze you ask ;) lol

mix until smooth : 2 cups powdered sugar, 1/3 cup milk, 1 tsp vanilla (I did 1 tsp vanilla extract and 1 tsp maple extract yum).

I am so happy with how it turned out-it actually tasted JUST like a honey bun. We had it for dessert and then the boys had it for breakfast...it's good either way!
