Monterey Shower

It is such a surreal thing getting older...lol. I mean Duh I know Greg and I are getting married it has been in the works for sometime now ;), but every so often it hits you that something major is happening in YOUR life! It was an amazing experience at my bridal shower this weekend in Monterey. You think to yourself people want to come to a party to see me and give me gifts wow why ? ...well I'm sure it wasn't just to see me they all know what a great hostess Claudia (my mother in law) is and they were going to get fed well lol. I felt a little grown up and a lot honored and thankful to all the ladies who attended and made me feel at ease and part of the family.

Of course Claudia went above and beyond it was a beautiful afternoon.

 Cookies in our colors!
I love these ladies... I am so lucky to have you two, you help make our men bearable ;) lol...j/k

Chocolate covered strawberries, lemonchello and Kahlua cupcakes
 The girls outside :)

Tana my sister in law made a cute head piece for me to wear out of a beaded tiara and tulle.

lol I thought these were funny... after the shower and after a glass of wine (ok, a bottle)lol.

 Don't mind those white legs...EEK!

I am so thankful for all of the amazing present we received ! I didn't want to bore with pictures of everything, but when you come over for dinner you will see it ;)
Here are a couple of cute things... love this mood barometer, they are just missing a grumpy section for my handsome husband to be lol
Love !! Look how cute these dish towels are!

Claudia bid on ebay to get me this beauty of a cake plate...it's like one I got and broke in the same day !

I will be glad when June 29th hits we are running out of room and our guest room has been turned into wedding central.

Claudia I will tell you again! You are so thoughtful and I appreciate what you did for me! Is a great day to meet the Heydeman family and friends and look forward to seeing them again at the wedding. I can't wait to become Mrs. Heydeman !
love ya!

3 weeks away for my Shower with my family...man I feel spoiled!!

Where does time go?

This blog is WAY over do, but I felt like I needed to play catch up- so it might be random things lol. Well since Christmas I got the amazing I Phone! It is so much easier to post and look at pictures on Instagram, but I remind myself just like me a mere month ago not everyone has a smart phone lol. Here is what has been going on with us:

1. First I now have the most amazing nephew ever! He is the cutest darn thing you have ever seen. I was so lucky that he listened to his auntie and came weeks early just in time for a 3 day weekend! I got to hold this little bundle when he was a week. Love Love Love him! I still can't believe that my sister is a mom, but she is and she is amazing. Her and her husband J.D were so natural and efficient after just a week! I only wish that when Greg and I have babies we will come off as effortless as them. J.D I have so much respect and love for you-thank you for being a truly amazing husband to my sister! You guys are the perfect little family! xoxo

I can't believe Troy is already 1 month old! He is growing so much! I can't wait to come visit in April...It's killing me not being there to love on him and share the experience with my sis!

2. At an emergency staff meeting my principal told me and a fellow 2nd year teacher that our board decided to make us probationary instead of temporary teachers! Yipee ! What this means is that I actually get to be on the senority list and if  (when) pink slips come all the temp teachers would go before us...sorry guys! Well...I got my congratulations note in the mail and they retro-acted my date back to August of 2011! Yipee! What that means is that both last year and this counts towards my tenure! Which is a very very good thing. Redding has brought a lot of changes personally, but professionally it was the best decision! I am so lucky to have a school and district that believes in me so much! I love it!

3. Greg and I are in the beginning works of house hunting...we go tomorrow to the bank to see what we qualify for. What a romantic valentines day huh lol ! I am so excited to be able to have a house to make our own, but I know that  it might be a stressful process...on top of an already stressful process of planning a wedding!

4. Oh the wedding ! LOL I haven't posted most about it , but all the big stuff is done now done to the details...whoever thinks this stuff is fun is crazy! The day of will be amazing though I can't wait. I go Friday to get my dress fitted...ooh la la

5. Loving my silhouette. I made my class valentines today...Love them! This weekend I am planning on checking some wedding crafts off my list... and sleeping in lol

Here we are 2013!

I can't believe that it is 2013! Another year has come and gone. I am excited for this year and I know it too will go extremely fast because of all the stuff going on. In this year I will become an aunt, wife, a clear credentialed teacher (who hopefully gets rehired) ... and who knows what else. It was nice to sit back, relax and just enjoy the moments this holiday season before all of the changes. I had an amazing two weeks off with all of these fabulous people!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was nice up at the cabin. I am still bummed that there wasn't snow up there yet , but after it finally stopped raining the weather was beautiful.

Greg and his dad did some hunting. We tried getting Bailey to pose, but she was more interested in smelling the ducks she retrieved.
We went for a walk ... we found the caboose we originally wrote on with chalk for our engagement pitures- when we went back it was gone lol so we had to redo it on a different train.

We played hand and foot and Yahtzee. They started calling me the Funstigator because I was always asking them if they wanted to play...

 We ate and drank...

 and picked out trees!
I can't believe it's the end of the year already...lots happening next year!

Cinnabon Caramel Corn

I love making homemade caramel corn, so I thought I would try a new recipe- Cinnabon Caramel Corn. It does taste like a cinnamon roll and made the house smell amazing.
I just bought sticker paper to make my own stickers in my silhouette...so fun!
